Greetings, I am Mo l'artiste, a French Australian artist currently immersed in the captivating landscapes of Margaret River after many years living in Fremantle. My artistic journey is an exploration of blending two cultures . The first is drawing inspiration from Western Australia's scenic beauty & lifestyle, and the other from the influences of African art from my past in North Africa, where I had the chance to live and work for 4 years.
My medium of choice is acrylics, a versatile tool that allows me to capture the essence of our WA lifestyle . It is through a process of experimenting with various textures, that I have created this unique style.
Little characters dance across the canvas, bringing a touch of joy and whimsy to the serene landscapes. It's a celebration of cultural diversity, a fusion of worlds that speaks to the richness of life's tapestry.
Above all, my art is a testament to the transformative power of motherhood. I started to paint on maternity leave when I was spending more time at home. My partner was away a lot, and I was feeling a bit lonely at home. Motherhood was my first source of inspiration. Since then, I never stopped painting. As a mother, painting is not just a creative outlet; it's my "me time," a meditative moment where I reconnect with my inner self, connect with my little characters in my own world. The canvas becomes a sanctuary where I navigate the emotions of motherhood, find solace, and paint my path to happiness.
My art is an inclusive invitation, resonating with those who connect with the whimsical characters and vibrant landscapes. It transcends geographical boundaries, offering a universal language that speaks to the shared experiences of joy and diversity. This fusion of Western Australia's natural beauty and the liveliness of African art serves as a bridge, inviting viewers to embark on a journey where imagination knows no borders.
